The dazzling plumage of the kingfisher should make it a conspicuous bird but, being small, shy and fast-flying, it is seldom seen.

Lovely painting!
Just a few days ago I saw (and photographed) a Kingfisher. It was the first one I’d ever seen. So pretty but so elusive. 🙂
