Crustacean Compassion has been campaigning for ten years to protect crustaceans. Their work resulted in decapod crustaceans being included in the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act in 2022. And yet, four years later, it’s still legal to boil them alive, dismember them alive, shrink-wrap them alive and send them through the post ALIVE!
What the hell?!
Anyway, if you’re a Crustacean Compassion subscriber you will be aware that ten days ago they launched a new “send a postcard to your MP” campaign and when I took another look at it today I discovered that only 107 postcards have so far been sent!
I was really shocked. I thought Crustacean Compassion had a large following. I’ve seen clips of politicians advocating for them in the House of Commons; I’ve seen clips of well-known celebrities speaking out on their behalf. And yet, ten days after they ask their supporters to send postcards to their MPs, only 107 people have!
Who doesn’t agree that it’s barbaric and inexcusable to cook a living sentient being? So please, take a few minutes to send a postcard to your MP and tell them that 😀

Here’s How:
- Go to the Crustacean Compassion home page
- Scroll down until you see the TAKE ACTION block
- Click on it and it will take you to a page where you can choose your postcard and send it to your MP
- You can do it for free, or you can pay £2.75 for your own postcard, or you can pay more to cover the cost of other people’s postcards. The choice is yours.
