Just love these clues. Been doing xwords for 50 years and most of the clues are so esoteric they are even beyond AI abilities. Who knows this stuff ? I usually get maybe 12 to enter in, then hit the internet and if I’m lucky I find another half dozen answers. What is especially astonishing is that some people wrap up and solve the whole thing in about 15 minutes ! Even with 3 college degrees these things are absolute self-esteem and self-confidence crushers.

Hi Carl, I’m totally with you on that. Not that I’m a frequent cross-worder like you, but I do like puzzles when they have straight-forward clues. Cryptic crosswords are completely beyond me. So glad you like our clues 😀 Thank you.
