I am so glad everything worked out well. I have no idea where Benji came from but he is a rescue dog and I adopted him from a shelter two years ago. He has some separation issues, but we are slowly getting over them and he seems to understand that when we do go out, we are coming back and he is not abandoned. Whenever possible, he goes out with me and basically between now and mid November he will come in the car with me. Summer is much too hot.

I know what you mean. If I go outside just to hang out the washing, I am gone for maybe 5 or 10 minutes, our dogs get hysterically excited when I return as if they thought I wasn’t coming back. It must be awful for them because they were with their previous people for a long time before being cast aside so I imagine they will never be completely secure with us. Luckily, like you, I am able to keep them with me most of the time 🙂
