I looked it up to make sure it isn’t about something horrible in history and it isn’t. It’s from a cockney exclamation – Flaming Horror! – which, when you drop the g and the h and run it together, like a true cockney, gives you Flamin’ora!, ie Flamin’ Nora! 😀 Well, you said you like to know things 😉
