I had read the first three instalments, so it was great to catch up on these last two.
The detail you put into these stories is amazing. Inspiring, really.

We absolutely loved this episode!!! So much happened and it was so exciting 😀 We were laughing through out because of all the funny lines and righteous naughty behaviour 🙂 One of our favourite parts was when Jean smuggled out the octopus under her costume! Wonderful plan! Very inspiring.
It’s wonderful that the aquarium had to close forever, and got replaced by such a special, sensory experience place 🙂 We wish that was a real place, we’d love to go to Weston on Sea and visit it!! 😀 We really enjoyed this and want to thank you for writing and drawing it 😀 We especially love all the pictures of Venus swimming – phew – glad she got away from those divers at the end, that was close!! 😀 Five stars 😀

Wow! Thank you so much for this glowing review, we’re so glad you enjoyed it so much 😀 and I forgot to mention, in case anyone was worried about it – George (the lobster who Jean couldn’t find during the rescue) had been moved to the touch pool so he was taken by Adi and released in the tank by Venus, just in case you were worried about that 😉

Oh, good. We weren’t too worried, because we have a strong trust in fiction, for making sure everything works out well in the end, so we had every assurance that George was got out, somehow 🙂 😀

Courage! That’s the word I was trying to think of! I said brave, which is perfect too, but I KNEW there was a word beginning with c that meant bravery. 😉 Over and out 😉

It’s wonderful how independent Jean, Adi and Venus are. They are such cool characters, going out and investigating, going undercover and launching this rescue mission. They are so inspiring. It’s brilliant because a lot of the time when you have a story with undercover spy missions, they are organised by some sort of organization, but these kids don’t need telling what to do, they are free from corruption and they just go for it! They show initiative, and confidence and they are really brave. They aren’t fooled by authority and their lies.
Speaking of which, I am shocked by all the terrible things revealed in this story! My goodness. It’s always a surprise in this day and age to actually be surprised by terrible things, but I am. I am so disappointed to find that all of this greed is hiding behind the mask of “conservation” and they are actually in league with the fishermen! Incredible! Extraordinary.
I look forward to reading the conclusion of this story in the near future. Best wishes to you and Miranda.
Love, Elvis

Thank you so much for your long, comprehensive feedback, it makes me so happy. The things this story reveals are awful. When I started it I was just thinking “keeping animals in prison is wrong” but I didn’t know the half of it. I’ve found all these things out in my story research and once you know them you think “Of course! It’s obvious now! These are just profit-making companies like any other. They want to make as much money as possible and to do that they need to make it as appealing as possible to the public. That’s why they call it “conservation” because in this day and age they know that most people would not knowingly contribute to animal exploitation, wild-capture and confinement for the sake of entertainment. We just need to lift the veil so that everyone can see it 🙂 Thanks again Elvis, great to have you back 😀

Absolutely – when you see these meat companies which say their meat is humane and free range and things, you can see their thinking. You can see that they’ve thought it out, and realised: “I don’t have to out run the bear. I just have to out run you.” Because the entire meat industry is so terrible and cruel and despicable, in order to be “humane” they just have to be a tiny bit less despicable than the others, they don’t have to stop being terrible at all.
Your story is a brilliant one, and I look forward to reading the end!
I am very concerned that Venus will be trapped in that basement forever! Or will she???
Beautiful illustrations as always, my dear. Top notch 😉 😀 Riveting!
