This is my favorite of this series so far. It was very suspenseful. I thought for sure the guy was going to die.

I loved this: “Perhaps this is where they put the maid if she breaks the china.”
I didn’t realize these gun shoots employed people to scare the birds into the path of the guns. Seriously?!

Seriously. And they portray it as a lovely family day out! I was once acquainted with a woman who described it as such and said “city people didn’t understand because they were squeamish”. So glad you enjoyed this story, thanks so much for your comment 😀
