Vegan Cafe Library!

library post

Oh My Goodness vegan cafe at the Enterprise Centre behind the station in Eastbourne is now providing a free library of gorgeous vegan comics and story books 😀  You can help yourself to any book, or as many books as you like, take them home and bring them back when you’re finished with them.  It’s a simple as that!

Plus there’s also free fairy tales to keep, and puzzle pages, jigsaw puzzles and colouring books to enjoy while you’re waiting for your food!  What a brilliant cafe!  The food is also awesome 😀

Delicious food.  Free library.  Free fairy tales.  Wordsearches.  Crosswords.  Colouring Books.  Jigsaw puzzles.

Now that’s what I call a great venue!

Go on, treat yourself!  Get on down to Oh My Goodness vegan cafe, Enterprise Shopping Centre, Station Parade, Eastbourne, E. Sussex, BN21 1BD – and borrow some comics! 😀

Oh My Goodness Vegan Store!

This place is wonderful! 😀

It’s at the Enterprise Centre, a lovely little shopping centre behind the station, in Eastbourne.

There are two small cosy seating areas, and a scrumptious selection of delicious food to choose from.

The food there is not only delicious, it’s healthy!  There are plenty of fresh fruit and salad options as well as scrummy baked goods, sweet and savoury.  They do this amazing sausage roll with tomato relish in!  My goodness!

I’ve never been an adventurous eater so eating at Oh My Goodness has introduced me to all sorts of delectable foods I’d never tried before, prepared in a way that makes them irresistible.

I am not at all surprised that these tomato-relished sausage rolls did not remain on the plate long enough to be photographed.

So, the food is amazing – that much we’ve established – but what sets this vegan cafe apart from the rest is that they are now selling vegan books for children! 😀

Just inside the door is a bookcase, and on the top shelf of that book case is a small selection of our comics and story books for sale.

We are so excited! 😀

So if you want a good feed, and a good read, you know where to go! 😀

Miranda at Loving Hut Belgium!

So here I am at Loving Hut in Belgium!  DSCN3354DSCN3278

Tammy and I thought this was a fantastic place!  With fair trade organic lemonade!  And chocolate sponge cake!

We had cake first, of course, and this was fantastic.  Mmm tasty 🙂

And then it was time to try the Loving Hut burger!  This was delicious in a toasted sesame bun with vegan cheese and gherkins and onion slices 😀

Here is a painting from inside the Loving Hut – it says “The best way of life, is the veggie way”

I visited the Loving Hut several times during my stay in Leuven.  I went back for chocolate chip cookies, more cake, and on Thursday I tried the Broccoli pasta met champignons en roomsaus!  Which was absolutely brilliant!  I loved it!  Unfortunately by this time in the week my camera battery had run out, so I couldn’t take a photograph.  I did draw a picture of it:

Miranda at Greenway

I visited Greenway vegetarian restaurant!  I came here twice on my visit to Leuven, and it is a brilliant place. 🙂 You can eat in or take-away, so I did both!DSCN3391

I arrived just when they had opened on my first visit!  DSCN3390

I had vegan spaghetti bolognese with toasted cashews on top to take-away!  It was fantastic and delicious!

Here you can see Jermaine posing with it in a cardboard box!Take away food in paper bag from Greenway vegetarian restaurant. Vegan Spaghetti bolognese. In the cardboard box with a toy cat.

It really was brilliant food.  And excellent service from very friendly people!

On my second visit I chose a “wortelburger” from the menu, which I chose because it said it was vegan!  I have since discovered that “wortel” means “carrot” 🙂 This was very tasty, in a toasted bun, with lettuce and pineapple!  Scrumptious!

I highly recommend you visit this restaurant, they have a wide selection of tasty foods for all your preferences and desires!  I liked the seating too – I sat at a high table on a high stool with my feet dangling off the ground!  If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, don’t worry, there are lots of tables at conventional heights.

Miranda out and about

I have been on holiday to Leuven in Belgium!  I chose to visit Leuven because I discovered that they have a Loving Hut.  After arriving I was ecstatic to find that they also have Vegaverso a vegan cafe, Greenway a vegetarian cafe, and Shavt which is a vegan food shop!

Here I am at Vegaverso, vegan cafe in Leuven, Belgium!

Inside Vegaverso, taarts and cupcakes

I had a peanut butter and jelly cupcake, a vanilla cupcake and a chocolate cupcake, on different visits!  They were all delicious and beautiful!

More cake selection

I also tried a chocolate coconut macaroon, and an oat cake, which were fantastic!

More cake selection!

This is what I had on my first visit to Vegaverso!  It was the most scrumptious food you will ever taste!  I had vegan cheese with vegenaise and a blueberry cupcake!  It was wonderful!

Celebrate The Loving Hut and life in general

The Loving Hut in Brighton celebrated its 4th anniversary at the weekend and we were there!

Before the festivities got under way, some people competed in a show of strength and stamina.  Who will be the last left standing?

Then came the Lion Dance (a form of traditional dance in Chinese and other Asian countries, in which performers mimic a lion’s movements in a lion costume – so says Wikipedia.) There were 2 teams – from Brighton, in red, and from Crawley (including some of the Loving Hut staff) in white.

And of course, in spite of the fact that we are now raw most of the time, how could we not enter into the spirit of things?  We had Loving Hut Burger and chips, chik’n burger and chips and Peking style with rice. Yum!

Fantastic food! Fantastic place! Fantastic people!

Loving Hut Brighton, life-affirming vegan cafe, – Long May You Continue 🙂

Oh, and as we set off for home, sadly sooner than we would have liked, we couldn’t help noticing some of the participants of the Brighton Naked Bike Ride, celebrating life in their own way. (Look away now if you’re bashful)

Lucky at Loving Hut

We had to do some shopping in Brighton today so we indulged ourselves in a visit to the Loving Hut while we were there. Twice actually – once before we started shopping and again when we were finished.  On our second visit we were especially lucky because the lovely ladies at The Hut brought out two cupcakes on the house for me and Miranda while my husband waited for the dessert he’d ordered 😀

Love the Loving Hut
