What a beautiful New Year present you are giving us. Love the priorities of Venus Aqueous! Here in Germany, every household has a plastic wheely bin for recycling. It gets picked up ever fortnight. It is a start, but it doesn’t mean that people don’t litter of course. Do you have a similar thing in Britain?

Yes, the same, but the real tragedy is that plastic recycling isn’t done in the UK. They ship all plastic waste to be recycled in Asia (the US and Canada and Australia do the same I believe, maybe Europe too?) and since most of the plastic in the ocean arrives there from rivers in Asia and Africa you can join the dots. All those people trying to be conscientious by putting their plastic in recycling bins are actually causing more plastic in the oceans. All countries should have a circular system of recycling and reusing in their own states. None of it should be shipped overseas. In the meantime we have to do our best to avoid plastic purchases, although that is close to impossible. Happy New Year! 🙂
