I vote that they’re alpacas too. We used to have some living near us and I was just taking a look at a photo of them I have on my blog. ‘Your’ animals definitely look very similar, apart from the fact that ‘ours’ had rather stylish ‘haircuts’ 😉

Thank you 🙂 we were lucky they didn’t run off when we got close.

watching them around here I reckon they have only two moods (or attitudes) grumpy and curious.

Really? I haven’t seen much of them, but so far I’ve only noticed their curious side 🙂

it’s the way they hold their ears back. maybe it’s not grumpy but it looks it.

Well, I don’t know about Alpacas, but llamas are used for protecting sheep herds, because they have a “badass” attitude and spit in the eyes of predators and people they don’t like. I’ve heard the spit really stings.

😀 Are they Alpacas or Llamas?

Good question – we thought they were llamas until we found a youtube video explaining how you can tell the difference. The tell tale sign is the ears – apparently llamas have bigger ears which they call ‘banana ears’ because they curve towards each other in a banana shape. These guys’ ears don’t do that so I think they’re alpacas 🙂

Interesting! I love Alpacas but I didn’t know the difference with Llamas, but know I am well informed 🙂 They are so cute and funny! I saw a little family last summer here in Tuscany and I totally felt in love for them
