Vegan Christmas Market

It’s that time of year again, although it might not feel like it, so we’ve decided to get Christmassy at the Be The Future vegan market in Stoke Newington this weekend πŸ˜€

If you’re mourning the loss of the usual big Vegan Christmas events this year [eg VegFest and the Animal Aid Cruelty-Free Fair] then this might make up for it in a small way. It’s nice to be among vegans. It’s nice to be in a friendly, welcoming, vibrant but cosy shopping environment where you don’t have to ask – “what’s in that?” or “is that tested on animals?”

At the Be The Future Market you’ll find all sorts of vegan gift ideas from small local businesses who produce high-quality products with loads of love. Sorry, I can’t tell you exactly who’s going to be there this weekend because their website doesn’t specify (I think they give more info on instagram but I haven’t been able to make instagram work πŸ˜€ ) but I can tell you that we’ll be there on Saturday and that’s reason enough to pop in! ❀

We’re going to be there, on Saturday 12th December, with loads of our colourful vegan children’s books, already wrapped and ready for Christmas morning πŸ˜€

So don’t miss out – be there between 11am and 5pm and get Christmassy – vegan style! πŸ˜‰

We can’t wait to see you! πŸ˜€

Abney Public Hall, 73A Church Street, Stoke Newington, London, N16 0AS

11am to 5pm on Saturday 12th December and Sunday 13th December 2020

Go to bethefuturemkt.com and scroll to the bottom of the page for directions including buses and trains info.

Now I’d better get wrapping! πŸ˜‰

The Brighton and Hove Book Fayre returns on November 23rd to the Brighton Unitarian Church, New Road. Come and meet local authors and browse the huge selection of books on offer, from children’s books to self-help, crime to horror, cookery to romance.

Brighton Unitarian Church is situated at the north end of New Road, close to the Brighton Dome, Royal Pavilion and the Theatre Royal.Β  Exit the library and walk straight ahead until you reach Church Street.Β  Cross it and you will be in New Road which is a restricted access zone and a pedestrianised area.

There is a multi-storey car park nearby in Church Street, although the Churchill Square shoppers’ car park is often more cost effective during the day – the entrance is in Regency Road.

Vegan Life Magazine: August 2019

Vegan Life is a great magazine – written by vegans for vegans πŸ˜€ and this month they put us in it!!!!!

We are so excited to show you – a feature all about Violet’s Vegan Comics!!! – two full pages of writing, plus a couple of illustrations!Β  If you’ve already read it you might have thought it was just one long waffle from me talking about our stuff but I was actually answering questions posed by the magazine interviewer, they just didn’t print the questions πŸ˜€

Miranda was so excited she posed for a picture with the mag as soon as she saw it, but now that we’re famous I thought it would be a good idea to give her a disguise so that she doesn’t get mobbed by fans πŸ˜€

Of course it’s not all about us πŸ˜‰Β  There are loads of scrumptious recipes, interviews with activists and animal advocates, news about the rise of veganism in the mainstream and tons of positive vegan lifestyle inspiration.Β  There’s loads more on their blog too πŸ˜€

And if you like the mag – which I know you will – you’re gonna love their live event!

Vegan Life LIVE takes place on the 14th and 15th of March 2020 at Alexandra Palace in London.Β  There’ll be talks and cookery demonstrations and so many stalls full of yummy vegan products.Β  Check out some of the highlights of their event in 2017 to get an idea of what to expect πŸ˜€

14-15 of March.

Be there! ❀

Be The Future Healthy Market

Inspired by Gandhi’s words, the Be The Future Market began in April this year and the next one is tomorrow, Saturday August 10th, 2019!

It’s a wonderful, warm, friendly, community event, and we love going πŸ˜€

There’s all sorts of stalls including food and, for example, toiletries, sweets, clothes, plants, natural medicine, and crafts.

It’s held at The Gallery, Edward’s Lane, Stoke Newington, London N16 0JL (click here and scroll to the bottom of the page for info how to get there)

This will be our third market.Β  At the first we just sold our books.Β  At the second we gave away free fairy tales and added another table for children’s activities.Β  And tomorrow we are launching our new vegan lending library!

We’ll be lending not just our own books, but also some by other authors πŸ˜€

Now, you wouldn’t want to miss that, would you?

“The future depends on what we do in the present.”

Saturday 10th August, The Gallery, Edward’s Lane, Stoke Newington, 11 ’tilΒ  4

Be there! πŸ˜‰
