About

Violet’s Vegan Comics is the creation of Violet Plum and Miranda Lemon. We’ve been working on it since 2012 and have loved every minute of it.

We love stories. We love exciting stories, we love scary stories, we love funny stories and action-packed stories, but we don’t like stories in which the heroes eat meat, drink milk, go fishing or buy a leather jacket. When the “good guys” do these things, especially in children’s stories, it sends a message. It says it’s okay to enslave and execute animals. It must be okay, the good guys do it.

But it’s not okay, and we’re tired of reading stories that pretend it is,

so we made some new ones.

The Violet’s Vegan Comics website is not just comics. Our fun, exciting and funny stories take many forms. Most are about vegan children who have battles to fight, victories to win, games to play and cakes to eat, but some are about animals, and some are about aliens. There are even a couple of ghost stories. The comics and stories here are free to read and always will be, but for those who want to hold an actual book in their hands (and you really can’t beat that can you?) you can pop over to our little vegan bookshop and choose from our ever-growing selection of vegan-friendly children’s books in paperback and hardback 😉

For pre-schoolers to teenagers, there are all sorts of vegan children’s stories here. We’ve read some of them aloud for you to enjoy at Vegan Story Time, plus we have vegan nursery rhymes, and vegan poems, and vegan things to make and do!

Our selection is continually growing so keep coming back – and tell your friends!

Why not follow the blog so you don’t miss the new stuff as it comes out?

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do 🙂

Oh, and if you want to drop us a line, please feel free! We’d love to hear from you ❤

  5. I’m happy to hear you like my writing style, its been a long trial of getting used to it, because of how I write its been hard for me to share my writing so hearing that people like it and my characters is always wonderful for my soul. 🙂

  7. I’ve always been a huge fan of your blog! (This is Eva Xanthopoulos – PoeteX, by the way.) I’m writing to you from yet another new blog. What can I say? I love blogging. 😀 And I’m sure you can say the same. Glad you liked the vegan curried cauliflower recipe. As I’m shifting to a more vegan diet, I’ve been having a lot of fun coming up with creative dishes.
